I’ve been programming lathes for abut 10 years, so I feel stupid asking this, but here it goes If you feel you have been affected by any of the issues mentioned in this post please Contact me on I know what the G50 and and G97 are or dobut I’ve never been sure about what the Gg96 does. So G50 keeps the machine from spinning too fast for safe cutting conditions.
I had read an article sometime back in your newsletter on this g69 but I cannot remember which issue it was in. G97 S M3 Your chuck will start revolving clockwise at rpm.
Welcome to eMastercam
When a manual machinist is exposed to constant surface speed on a CNC turning center for the first time, the spindle will probably appear to be running much too fast most manual machinists cannot run at optimum spindle speeds for obvious safety reasons. Poor workholding setups – Since speed chc rpm is difficult to determine when working in constant surface speed mode, it should only be used when making adequate setups.
It will be slow at the OD, and as it moves closer to X0, it will speed up until it hits the max spindle speed. Screw Threading G76 can only be done in G In this way, the wasted change in spindle speed will not occur, and when the next tool is in position, the spindle will be running at cbc correct rpm. In the early days I remember students saying to me the next day that they had G codes floating around in their head from the lessons the day before.
Is there a way to reprogram the ROM? It can cause the workpiece to be thrown from the workholding device.

I had my own shop after that for 6 years, went to work for other shops for the last 4 years and now Im back on my own cn. If working in the high spindle range, the spindle will run up to its maximum. Or sign in with one of these services. I use it when I teach a class on the basic principles g977 machining. Thanks JParis and Cathedral, we need more people like you guys.

At this point the constant surface speed mode is re-selected with the proper speed in sfm. Having your spindle constant ramp up to max then down to 1, then up and down again isn’t really the best practice.

When compromising speed as must be g7 when working in rpm mode, the spindle seldom runs at the appropriate rpm, and tool life may suffer. This message will be removed once you have signed in. Now your RPM would depend on where on the diameter the tool was positioned.
What are the benefits of constant surface speed?
Already have an account? A CNC machine in G96 will give a lovely finish because the h96 speed always remains the same. I’ve only programmed Haas lathes and I’ve always gotten the following code: The 1st time I programmed a lathe was when I started my own shop v97 05, before that I had never programmed a lathe.
They kept him happy all night. I made a video a while ago to explain CSS. Industrial Forum Existing user?
We do a lot of turning of parts that have changes in diameter. I figure the ROM has gone bad but the local repair shop and a Dallas based board repair shop say they can’t help me.
